| Now double-click on TCP/IP to configure the protocol. Select DNS from the tabs at the top. For Host Name, enter the name of your computer. For domain, enter microgear.net. | If it is not installed, click on Add. Select Remote Access Service from the list, and click OK. | ![]() |
| Double-click on Remote Access Service. The Remote Access Setup window should come up, and your modem should be listed. If there is no modem installed, the Add RAS Device panel should open and guide you through installing your modem. | ![]() |

| Make sure the IP address and name server addresses are both server assigned. At the bottom, select both Use IP Header compression and use default gateway on remote networks. | ![]() |
| You can now create a shortcut to your connection. Click on the More button, and choose Create Shortcut to Entry. | ![]() |
| This will bring up the Create Shortcut window where you can save the shortcut to your desktop. | ![]() |
| Double-clicking the shortcut you just created will allow you to log on to Microgear.net and access the Internet. When you dial in for the first time you will be prompted for your username and password. If you select Save Password you will not have to enter it again. Leave the blank for domain blank, it is for an NT domain, not an Internet domain, and it will cause your login to fail. | ![]() |
